“Let’s work through the puzzle step by step: 682: One number is correct and well placed. 614: One number is correct but wrongly placed. 206: Two numbers are correct but wrongly placed. 738: Nothing is correct. 780: One number is correct but wrongly placed. Breaking it down: 1. From 738, none of the digits 7, 3, and 8 are in the code. 2. From 682, 6, 8, and 2 are possible, but 8 is eliminated because of 738. So, either 6 or 2 is correct and well-placed. 3. From 614, 6 is confirmed as part of the code but wrongly placed because, in 682, it was well placed. Hence, in the code, 6 must be in the third position. 4. From 206, 0 and 2 are correct but wrongly placed. Since 2 is in the third position in 682 but wrongly placed, it must be in the first position. Also, 0 cannot be in the second position, so it must be in the middle. 5. From 780, we already know 7 and 8 are wrong, so 0 is the correct number but wrongly placed, reinforcing it should be in the middle. Solution: The correct code is 260,” commented a third.

A fourth added, “Ans is 042,” while sharing a long explanation. The X user Abdullah Zahid shared, “A- Point 1 we know one number is correct but well placed, point 2 again we see one number correct but wrong placed, so 6 is ruled out with this. B- Point 3, two numbers are correct but 6 already ruled out. So 0 and 2 are correct. Now it says they are not well placed. But with point 1 we know 2 is right and well placed. So, the last digit is confirmed __2. C- Point number 3, we know 0 is correct but wrongly placed. So it can either be first place or last place. But since the last place is already confirmed to be 2, so it’s the first place. So the first and the last digits are confirmed 0_2. D- Point 2, we know 6 is not correct but it says 1 number correct but wrongly placed. So it could be either 1 or 4. But if it’s 1, then it would be rightly placed, so the only number that fits in the middle is 4 which is wrongly placed in point 2. So the middle digit is confirmed to be 4. So the final answer is confirmed as 042.”
